- COMMAND: NSQ DOCUMENTATION : None
-
- FUNCTION: Compresses program files to take up less space.
-
- FORMAT: NSQ [[d:] [d:]filename.ext]...
-
- TYPE: Public domain software (Richard Greenlaw)
-
- REMARKS: NSQ without any parameters displays a short summary of its proper
- usage. The input file is squeezed using the Huffman algorithm
- and is written to a file of the same name on the specified drive but
- with the middle letter of the extension changed to 'Q'. If no drives
- are specified, the default drive is used. If the output file already
- exists, it is overwritten. Multiple input files and output drives
- may be specified, in which case each output file is written to the
- last specified drive. This is an improved version of earlier routines
- that is somewhat faster. See NUSQ to un-squeeze the file.
